Our WKF was founded on 15 January 1992. The first business premises were located in a building of the former VEB Robotron on Weißenseer Straße in Sömmerda, which no longer exists. Work began there on 20 January 1992 with 10 employees.
Of the 12 employees who worked at WKF at the end of 1992, 6 have now reached retirement age, while a further 4 employees are currently still working at WKF and are therefore celebrating their 25th anniversary with the company this year.
WKF was originally founded purely as a toolmaking company. The production of stamped and pressed parts was only continuously developed and expanded in the following years.
Other important milestones were the move to the new company building “Am Unterwege” in 2000, the major expansion of the company in 2004 and, most recently, an investment of millions in machinery in 2015 and 2016.
With enthusiastic and motivated employees, state-of-the-art machinery and innovative customers from many different industries, we believe we are very well equipped for the future.
